i dont know if its true or not, but people i know from high school and other places always seem to have the most jaded idea of what love is. i see a status update jump from single to in a relationship, and a day later they are saying how much they love him and how much they have always loved him or how they are the only one for them. honestly, you’ve been dating one month, and love takes more work than asking someone to be their girlfriend.
i dont understand how love comes so fucking easily for some people. i believe in love at first sight, but not in love at first sight with every guy you date (no joke. every boyfriend. every one month.) my boyfriend and i have been dating for awhile now (a little over three months). he looked at me the other day and i smiled. he then smiled and rolled over and turned away from me. i asked what was wrong. “nothing. im just a little scared at how fast im falling for you. i want to love you, but i really want to get to know you better first.”
that made me want to love him more, and even though i cant say those three words now, i still want to say them eventually. the fact that we are willing to try to make it to that level. that is love (or at least the foundation of it.)
build trust. learn more. then love.
its that simple.
